The Esmat Journal is dedicated to the dissemination of legal and interdisciplinary scientific production, promoting the circulation of research developed within the fields of Law and Applied Social Sciences.

The journal publishes scientific articles, essays, and theoretical or empirical studies related to public institutions, human rights, access to justice, public policies, and contemporary transformations of legal and social structures.

Published since 2009, the Journal maintained a semiannual publication schedule, with two issues released annually. Starting in 2026, the Journal adopts a continuous publication model, aimed at increasing editorial celerity and expanding the dissemination of scientific research.

Since 2024, the Journal’s editorial policy has adopted guidelines aimed at fostering institutional exogeneity, giving priority to manuscripts authored by researchers affiliated with national and foreign institutions outside the State of Tocantins, Brazil.
