Academic curiosity is a complex construct that has been defined in a number of ways. However, there is general agreement that it is a multidimensional concept that includes cognitive, affective, and behavioral components. Cognitive components of academic curiosity include interest, motivation, and attention. Affective components include excitement, enjoyment, and satisfaction. Behavioral components include exploration, seeking out new information, and asking questions.
