The Journal of Gastrointestinal Infections (JGI) is a peer-reviewed journal being published under the auspices of the Gastrointestinal Society of India (GISI) a registered society. It is issued once a year at present, but will be biannual in the future. The Journal aims at ensuring effective communication of research in various aspects of gastroenterology infections and providing continuing medical education, where concepts and strategies for managing critical patients are evolving rapidly. The journal will cover studies related to gastrointestinal (GI) infections. The Journal of Gastrointestinal Infections is devoted to the dissemination of new knowledge concerning the various aspects of human infections and infestations associated with GI tract. The journal will publish peer-reviewed original research papers, case reports, systematic reviews and meta-analysis. Current reports can be submitted as brief communications which must include review of current literature, clinical details, outcome and follow up. Letters to the editor must be a comment on or pertain to a manuscript already published in the journal or in relation to preliminary communication of a larger study. The journal will also regularly publish Review articles, Special Articles or Guest Editorials on various topics in GI infections, accepted on invitation. But those who are desirous of submitting a review article, special article or guest editorial are required to send a one page outline to the Editor-in-Chief.
