Journal Description


HARIPUR JOURNAL OF EDUCATIONAL RESEARCH (HJER) HJER is initiated by department of education, University of Haripur. It intends to contribute to the advancement of education practice at school, colleges and university level by judicious research of latest trends, evaluation of procedures, examination of traditional as well as novice practices, and replication of previous research. This journal is a valuable resource for teachers, students’ counselors, supervisors, administrators, curriculum experts and planners and educational researchers as they consider the structure of tomorrow’s curricula. AIMS AND FOCUS HJER is published twice a year in June and December. The primary aim of the journal is to encourage and coordinate research in all areas of education. It follows rigor blind peer review process. It encourages articles of well versed in terms of its language correctness, methodological soundness, good review, contribution and advancement in existing knowledge. Generally HJER welcomes articles focusing on any aspect of education but not limited to as:  Reports of original research in education  Reviews of the most innovative research in all areas of education  Conceptual papers in education research  Research articles focused on educational policy and practice INSTRUCTIONS FOR AUTHORS  Papers will be given preferential consideration when they are related to specific subjects being taught, which show clear benefits for learners, which depend on rigorous statistical analysis, which are of perceived value to assist teachers in enriching education.  Papers will be given preferential consideration when they avoid educational jargon, acronyms, and papers which are readily accessible to very busy practising teachers (at any level).  Manuscripts should be between 10 and 15 pages in length and must conform to the style of the Publication Manual of the 6th American Psychological Association (APA).  The name(s), affiliation(s), and phone, fax, e-mail addresses), permanent and postal address should appear on a separate cover page.  An Abstract of 150 words should also be submitted and typed on a separate page. GUIDELINES FOR SUBMITTING A MANUSCRIPT This is offered as a guide, not prescription.  Brief introduction, stating context and purpose  Critical summary of past findings to set the context  Outline of what was done  Outline of what was found, with comment and discussion integrated with the findings  Final conclusions and feasible recommendations set in terms of potential relevance and benefit to learners.  Margins: One inch on all sides except left side with 1.5 inch.  Font Size and Type: 12-pt. Times New Roman.  Line Spacing: 1 inch space for abstract (italic) and for references  Spacing after Punctuation: Space once after commas, colons, and semicolons within sentences.  Paragraph Indentation: 5-7 spaces. PLAGIARISM POLICY As per HEC policy, plagiarized content will not be accepted beyond limit set already. With the submission author is required to declare the originality of his/her work, properly citing or copying previous publications. If plagiarism is detected during the peer review process, the manuscript may be rejected. If the plagiarism is detected after publication, the publisher has the right to issue a correction or retract the paper. PEER REVIEW POLICY AND PROCESS HJER follows a double blind peer reviewing policy. Initial screening for the suitability of the article for publication in HJER is carried out by the associate editors and subsequently the manuscript is sent for blind reviewing. Each article is reviewed by two professional reviewers. Authors are informed about the comments or suggestions of the reviewers and are required to revise their paper in the specific time. A large number of submissions are rejected without being sent out for external peer review on the grounds of priority, insufficient originality, scientific flaws, lack of interest to the readers or the absence of scope of the journal. Usually an immediate decision is taken on such papers. The paper may also be sent to a specialist statistical reviewer if the paper demands such expertise.
