Aims
Curricular Studies and Perspectives (CSP) is a peer-reviewed journal that seeks to diversify curriculum scholarship, foreground multiple epistemologies, and promote global dialogue and the international exchange of knowledge. The journal is committed to amplifying critical perspectives from a wide range of geo-cultural contexts—including those historically underrepresented in mainstream knowledge production—to reimagine curriculum beyond dominant metropolitan frameworks and to generate alternative lines of inquiry.
CSP supports research that enriches students’ curriculum experiences and reframes contemporary understandings of curriculum for more just, inclusive, and sustainable futures. Bringing together empirical studies, theoretical debates, policy analyses, and practice-oriented innovations, the journal aims to serve as a multifaceted platform for academic dialogue in curriculum studies.
The journal covers a broad spectrum of work, including curriculum theory; the design, development, and evaluation of programs; education policy; intercultural learning; critical pedagogy; teacher education; and digital and innovative instructional strategies. CSP also welcomes applied and practice-based studies—including design-based research, action research, and experimental or quasi-experimental designs—that explore how curriculum is enacted in classroom and school-based contexts, particularly when theoretically grounded.
CSP is particularly open to the following types of contributions:
Interdisciplinary and comparative research on curriculum theory and design
Curriculum reforms and policy analyses
Critical, locally grounded approaches that broaden the field beyond dominant centers of knowledge production
Pedagogical innovations that enrich students’ curriculum experiences
Studies that rethink curriculum through the lenses of justice, inclusion, and sustainability
Literature reviews, meta-analyses, and critical evaluations
By bringing together research from diverse geographies and theoretical traditions, CSP seeks to deepen understanding of the multilayered nature of curriculum and to contribute to the development of more democratic, inclusive, and sustainable curricular practices.
