Abstract :
The present study investigated that the fast dissolving tablets of Lovastatin by ion exchange resin. DRC prepared by
physical mixing and solvent evaporation method. Sodium starch glycolate and Crospovidone were used as super
disintegrants. Formulations prepared by physical mixing and solvent evaporation blends were taken for pre and
post compression studies. Those all found to be within limits. From dissolution data among all formulations I11
formulation containing DRC with solvent evaporation method along with CP as super disintegrant has shown
maximum drug release within 10 min. Hence it considered as optimised formulation. From the FTIR studies it has
known as good compatability between drug and excipients. XRD studies of pure drug showed crystalline nature.
XRD studies have shown when drug mixed with the resin by solvent evaporation has shown good dispersion.
Optimised formulation was taken for Accelerated stability studies. From these studies It has known good stability
over 3 months.
