Abstract :

Objective:The aim of the present study was to analyze and documentation of precious Conventional knowledge used by the rural livestock owners and traditional healers in Farrukhabad district on the treatment of various livestock illnesses.Methods:We carry out participatory rural appraisal methods (PRA) and anthropological methods in block Farrukhabad, Kaimganj and Amaritpur of Farrukhabad district, Utter Pradesh, India. A survey in the ruler areas of Farrukhabad district was performed many times during different seasons from June 2016 to May 2017 through interviews and discussions with the local villagers.Results: Total 50 plant species have been found to be used against 37 ailments of livestock in the form of 12 crude drugs formulations. Verified specimens of cited plant species were gathered and recognized as belonging to 38 families. The plant parts used for medical preparations are leaves, seed, root, fruit, bark, stem, tuber, flowers, latex, thorn, and inflorescence. The whole plant is also utilized alone or with another plant part.Conclusion: We concluded that the low cost and almost no side effects of Ethnoveterinary medicines make them adaptable by the local community for common illnesses like skin diseases, flatulence, wounds, diarrhea, etc
