Abstract :

As a human rights profession, social work works to solve the social problems related to education, health and economy faced by refugees, who have been violated in their own country and who are more disadvantaged than most people, and to prevent the violations of rights they experience. The phenomenon of refugee and asylum has become one of the important subject areas that today's social workers are interested in. In this article, first of all, refugee rights are discussed on the legal basis, and human rights violations and other problems experienced by refugees are included. In this context, social workers as practitioners of the social work profession; Some duties and responsibilities have been determined at the point of preventing the problems experienced by refugees and producing solutions. In this study, a literature review on the field was made and the duties and responsibilities of social workers for refugees were presented in a theoretical framework. These duties and responsibilities; empowerment, advocacy, social cohesion and integration.
