Abstract :
Abstract This article explores the significance of cultural tourism in the Samarkand region, highlighting its historical landmarks, cultural events, and modern tourism infrastructure. Samarkand, an ancient city on the Silk Road, is renowned for its architectural marvels such as Registan Square, Gur-Emir Mausoleum, Bibi-Khanym Mosque, and Shah-i-Zinda Necropolis, all of which are UNESCO World Heritage Sites. The article discusses the economic benefits of tourism, the challenges faced in preserving cultural heritage, and the importance of sustainable tourism practices. It also examines the role of major cultural events in attracting tourists and fostering cultural exchange. By analyzing current trends and providing recommendations for infrastructure development and sustainable tourism, the article aims to enhance the tourist experience and promote Samarkand as a premier cultural destination.
