Abstract :
Abstract Russain Formalisam emerged in Russia in 1910 and remained active for more than two decades means approximately twenty years. Russian Formalists laid emphasison the functional role in literary devices.They advocated a?scientific?method for studying poetic language. They people were in front of Italian Futurism and also gave answers to Marxist followers.This Theory based upon scientific method of literary interpretation based on Form of literature. Russian formalists described general characteristics of literary languageband tries to analyze the specific devices with in the text used by the poet in his poetic experience by language.They introduced the term defamiliarization which became a key concept for Russian formalism.Russian Formalists wanted that literature should be studied on scientific bases through objective analysisof the motives?devices? techniques and other important functions that comprise the literary work. They want literature a piece of Art not an advertisement of any literary group or theory. In this article writer tries to define Formalism and the real odjectives of this Russian Literary Theory which was based in front of Italian Futurism and British Imagism. Critic used Historical comparative analysis to determine his point of view and used primary Sources as kuddon literary theory book and other main streem writers in Urdu whose have important works upon this Literary Theory.
