Abstract :
In the present study, a series of pyrazolyl pyridyl substituted dicoumarins has been synthesized. The synthesis of various 3,3 4 1 phenyl 3 pyridin 3 yl 1H pyrazol 4 yl pyridine 2,6 diyl dicoumarins and 3,3 4 1 phenyl 3 pyridin 4 yl 1H pyrazol 4 yl pyridine 2,6 diyl dicoumarins has been carried out by the reaction of various 3 coumarinoyl methyl pyridinium bromide salts with 3 3 1 phenyl 3 pyridin 3 yl 1H pyrazol 4 yl acryloyl coumarins and 3 3 1 phenyl 3 pyridin 4 yl 1H pyrazol 4 yl acryloyl coumarins coumarin chalcones respectively under Krohnkes reaction condition. Structural assignments were based on spectroscopic methods IR, 1H NMR, 13C APT, Mass spectral data and elemental analysis . The compounds were subjected to in vitro antimicrobial screening against representative panel of bacteria Bacillus subtilis, Staphylococcus aureus, Escherichia coli and Salmonella typhi and fungi Aspergillus niger and Candida albicans .
