Abstract :
The disintegration of low carbon alloy in chloride environment was examined by surface morphological and
FTIR spectroscopy methods. The retardation rises with increase drug concentration. The results achieved show that
various concentrations of antibiotic drugs inhibited the oxidation in chloride solution through the adsorption of the
inhibitor molecule on the superficial surface by obstructs its active sites. The results find from the FTIR are in
excellent agreement. The use of antibiotic drugs as an inhibitor for corrosion of mild steel in chloride environment
is advocated in this study.
