Abstract :

The treatment of ethyl-6-methyl-2-oxo-4-phenyl-1,2-dihydropyrimidone-5- carboxylate with 5-amino-8-hydroxyquinoline afford a N-(4-hydroxyquinolin-5-yl)-6-methyl-2-oxo-4-phenyl-1,2-dihydro pyrimidine-5-carboxamide(PDHQ). The transition metal complexes of Cu2+,Co2+ ,Ni2+, Mn2+ and Zn2+ of PDHQ have been prepared and characterized by elemental analysis, spectral studies, magnetic moment determination, molar conductivity measurement and microbicidal activity.
