Abstract :

Insects often intervene in the process of dieback, either as a primary factor triggering the phenomenon or as a secondary factor accentuating and amplifying the process over time. Among the listed insects, xylophages, particularly Scolytidae, Cerambycidae and Buprestidae, which appear to play an important role in the cypress dieback in the studied area. These xylophages are predominantly composed of palaearctic dominant species. Four species caused most of the damage inflicted on Cypress: Scolytus sp, Pityokteins curvidens, Pissodes sp and Anthaxia sp.
