Abstract :
This research article investigates the interplay between green innovation, financial development, resource depletion, and urbanization, focusing on charting a course towards a sustainable future. Utilizing the Autoregressive Distributed Lag (ARDL) framework, we analyze vital variables spanning 1970 to 2024. The variables include urban population ages 15–64, GDP, private sector access to real domestic credit, renewable resource energy, CO2 emissions, and fuel consumption. This study uncovers dynamic relationships among these variables, revealing the symbiotic linkages crucial for sustainable development. Preliminary findings suggest a positive correlation between financial development and green innovation, emphasizing the pivotal role of a robust financial sector in fostering sustainable practices. Concurrently, challenges arising from resource depletion and rapid urbanization necessitate targeted policies to promote circular economy principles and sustainable urban planning. The ARDL model is expected to offer insights into long-term relationships, providing a nuanced understanding of how changes in these variables impact each other over time. We anticipate that our findings will contribute valuable knowledge to policymakers, businesses, and researchers, guiding the formulation of strategies that reconcile economic growth with environmental preservation on the path to a sustainable future.
