Mobbing and Job Satisfaction Relation in Primary Healthcare Workers: Manisa Sample

Abstract :

The aim of this study is to determine the approaches to improve mobbing behaviors in primary health care workers in Manisa city center. The study is a cross-sectional descriptive study. The universe of there search is composed of primary health care workers working in Manisa city center (n = 510). In the study, it was aimed to reach hall of the employees without making any sampling, and 414 people were reached (participation in survey 81 %). There search data was collected between 01.06.2014-01.12.2014. In the study, the data were collected with three forms; Socio-demographic question naire, Mobbing Scale and Job Satisfaction Scale. Data were analyzed by Mann Whitney-U test and Kruskal-Wallis test. The association between risk factors and Mobbing Scale and Job Satisfaction Scale was analysed using the linear regression model. The relationship between mobbing and job satisfaction was assessed by spearman correlation. 33.8% of the study group is in the 30 years under age group. 61.8% were female, 38.2% and 64.3% were married. The score of the study group on mobbing scale distribution was 58,5 ± 14,1 (52-215) ; job satisfaction scale distribution 3.6 ± 0.6 (1-5). Variable saffecting mobbing; age, marital status, variable saffecting job satisfaction, job position. In addition, as mobing in creases, the determination of job satisfaction is an important finding. In Manisa city center, it is revealed that there is a reverse relation ship between mobbing and job satisfaction in primary healthcare workers.
