Abstract :
This paper presents a IPA of the South Korean survival drama series Squid Game, focusing particularly on the psychological impact of greed, power, and moral decay over the three seasons. It analyzes prominent character arcs, especially that of Seong Gi-hun and other major contestants, to understand the emotional and psychological damage inflicted by the competition. The implications point towards the reality that ambition placed against moral boundaries reveals a deeper understanding of the human condition, which remains trapped in a desperate fight for existence while succumbing to immense pressure in a competitive context, all made possible through self-destructive choices. One of the main conclusions of this study is that the depiction of instinctual behavior, class conflict, and moral decline resonates with societal critiques, especially within capitalist societies characterized by disparity and systemic exploitation. The study describes the balance between the moral dimensions and consequential psychological damage which leads to the overwhelming moral collapse of the characters as they engage in more savage games.
