Abstract :

In this study, the results of the analysis of blood group polymorphism (ABO, Rhesus, MNSs, Duffy) in a sample of 200 individual hens from the coastal population of Honaïne (Western Algeria) are presented. From an ethnic point of view this population belongs to the Berber tribe of the Koumia established in the Traras mountains before the 16th century. The results obtained showed that the four systems are in Hardy-Weinberg equilibrium. Compared to the populations of the Mediterranean basin, our population is characterized by a high frequency of Rh*cde haplotype and Fy * o allele. The inter-population relations studied using genetic distances of the blood groups and the phylogenetic tree showed a great affinity between the hen population of Honaїne and the hen populations of North Africa.
