Abstract :

The aim of this research was to investigate the effect of social support on marital adjustment through mediating role of psychological wellbeing among working women of secondary school teachers of city Kotli AJK. The objectives of research study were to determining the effect of social support on psychological well-being, to identify effect of psychological well-being on marital adjustment and to explore the effects of social support on marital adjustment. Secondary school female teachers were considered as the population of the study. Data for research collected online through Google form. The obtained data analyzed through SPSS-22. Main conclusions of the research study were that social support had high positive effect on marital adjustment, social support had positive effect on psychological wellbeing and psychological wellbeing had moderate effect on marital adjustment. Psychological wellbeing mediated the relationship between social support and marital adjustment. Additional studies on different samples and demographics could be planned to explain other potential predictors and determinants for further validation. The current study investigated the beneficial impacts of social support. As a result, future research could investigate researching the more positive effects of social support.
