Abstract :
The most usage of the ecotourism concept in tourism literature is the realization of tourism
activities by preserving natural, historical and cultural environment as well as maintaining the
sustainability of these activities. Ardahan and its around is a tourism centre where ecotourism can
be carried out in terms of both natural beauties and historical back ground and cultural values.
Some planned and scheduled works need to be done in order to effectively evalvate and developed
Ardahan province’s tourism facilities. For this reason, by taking the sociological dimension of
ecotourism in hand, the ecotourism potential of Ardahan has been examined and a number of
solutions have been presented in order to improve and develop ecotourism in this centre in this
study.
