Abstract :

This study was conducted in 2019 in Serdar Village in Bart?n province where range improvement and management project was carried out in 2008-2012 years by Bart?n Directorate of Provincial Agriculture and Forestry and Black Sea Agricultural Research Institue. The aim of this study was to evaluate the change in the pasture area in time. For this purpose, the plant species diversity and pasture status were determined in 2019. The change of the pasture area was evaluated using the similarity index of Seronson. 4 years and 7 years after the completion of the rehabilitation project; it was seen that the ration of legumes decreased and the ration of grasses and other families increased. Indeed, 16.14% of the high ration in the grasses species was Bromus sterilis which is in the invasive group with a low forage value. Also, the ration of Ranunculus constantinopolitanus which is in the group of toxic plants was found to be quite high at 14.41%. Serdar village pasture was rehabilitated with intensive labor and costs. Hence, sustainability of the pasture should be ensured. For these purposes; 1) Weed control should be done in the pasture, 2) Critical grazing seasons should be considered, 3) Water tanks, shady spots and salt blocks should be homogeneously placed in the pasture area.
