Abstract :

Abstract One of the most effective ways to capture solar energy is through the use of solar panels. PV panels need to be maintained on a regular basis to remain functional, just like any other electrical equipment. The dust layers accumulate on the module surfaces over time, reducing the modules' efficiency. Solar modules can be cleaned dry or robotically without the need for water. Robots that clean solar panels employ dry brushes and air pressure to remove dirt from the panels' surface. Generally speaking, moist cleaning is more effective than dry cleaning. This is because the water used in wet cleaning acts as a channel for the release of dust particles. Water is not readily available everywhere, though, and this makes cleaning the modules challenging. In this sense, dry cleaning can be a fantastic substitute. Furthermore, wet cleaning PV modules on a regular basis appear to be rather difficult (since it involves a big amount of water, people, and capital expense).
