Abstract :
The parasites and diseases constitute one of the important factors in regulating the fish population in
Pisciculture. To increase fish production, it is necessary that the various contributory factors for mortality of fish are
reduced, so that the disease-free fish of good quality would be produced for marketing. Several chemicals are used
to control fungal and bacterial diseases of fish, however, they either showed host (fish) toxicity or had
bioaccumulatiion in fish thus directly affecting the consumers. Trichoderma viride has been found to be very
effective against fish pathogenic watermoulds /bacteria without any toxicity to fingerlings, fries and adults of fish. A
Perpetual Bioremediation System (PBS) has been developed for perpetual control of fish diseases caused by aquatic
fungi/bacteria under pisciculture which may enhance the National Fish Production.
