Abstract :
A 19 year old adolescent girl presented to
the general OPD of a health center with
the chief complaint of white discharge per
vaginum (on and off) for last two years.
ยง What are the various differential
diagnosis that come in to your
mind?
Normal: During the time of
ovulation; at the time of puberty,
breastfeeding; Sexual arousal,
psychological factors.
Abnormal: Bacterial vaginosis,
candidiasis, gonorrhea, yeast
infection, chlamydia infection,
pelvic inflammatory disease.
The girl has been apparently well two
years back until she developed intermittent
per vaginal discharge which was non- foul
smelling, white in color, sticky and thick
in consistency. The amount of discharge
was profuse and it caused staining of
clothes. The discharge showed periodicity
with increasing in amount mid cycle.
There was no history of itching, redness or
rash over genitalia, fever, back pain,
burning micturition. There was no history
of sexual contact.
