Abstract :
Almost half of the patients who are administered intravenous fluid infusion or blood transfusion via IV cannula insertion develop phlebitis. This study was conducted to assess the occurrence and risk factors of phlebitis among peripheral intravenous cannulated patients admitted to the emergency wards of SKIMS, Soura, Srinagar with a view to developing a phlebitis prevention protocol.
