Abstract :
As an institution seen in almost all societies, the family still exists, but it also undergoes significant changes. Among the most important changes that occur are the reasons for marriage and the circumstances of having children. Undoubtedly, many factors such as working life and socioeconomic conditions, other than people's own motivations, seem to have an important place in these changes. Within the scope of this study, it was tried to evaluate the value given to the child in the 21st century and the change in parenting perception and the point it reached.In the first part of the study, the family life cycle was mentioned and the answer to the question of why to have children was sought.In the second part, the value given to the child and the child-parent relationship are focused. As a result, it has been observed that there has been a decrease in the rate of having children over the years, and this decrease and the family's withdrawal have led to a psychological increase in the value given to the child.
