Abstract :
Early emotional experiences significantly influence an individual's psychological development and overall well-being. The current study investigated the correlation between perceived childhood emotional neglect, emotional regulation, and adult attachment styles in young adults. It also examined the correlation between challenges in emotion regulation and attachment styles with early emotional neglect. Quantitative research design was utilized, and data was gathered from 250 young adults through standardized self-report instruments evaluating childhood emotional neglect, difficulties in emotion regulation, and adult attachment styles. Analyses were conducted using SPSS, including correlation reliability, and mediation analysis to look at the relationships between the study variables. The results showed a strong positive link between feeling emotionally neglected as a child and having difficulties in emotion regulation.
