Abstract :

In this study, stress levels among students at a public university in Jamshoro are investigated, with an emphasis on determining the main sources of stress and how they affect academic achievement. The study, which is qualitative in nature and is based on a survey and interviews, shows what is known about stress in general, including its causes, symptoms, and prevention. Google Forms was used to administer the product electronically and collect data. 78 people in total replied to the survey. Zoom interviews with teachers and doctors were used to augment the data that was gathered via Google Forms. Descriptive analysis was used to examine the data in order to determine participant response frequencies. Using a mixed-method approach, information was gathered from 78 participants—54 female and 24 male students—via questionnaires, as well as observations from educators and medical professionals. The results show that the biggest causes of stress among students are an overwhelming workload and expectations for academic success. Stressors that were not anticipated, like threats, blackmail, and harassment, were found. According to the report, there is a clear awareness gap and a dearth of support systems in the university's efforts to address these problems. In order to address these pressures, the report suggests holding workshops and running awareness campaigns. The report suggests an awareness campaign and workshops for university students to help them learn about common stress and improve their basic health literacy. It also suggests creating a mobile application that will act as a university portal for reporting and handling grievances in addition to advising and educating students on health-related issues. Through the provision of tools for effective stress management, this project seeks to improve the academic and personal well-being of students in general. A comprehensive health awareness campaign is necessary in all higher education institutions, according to the study's conclusion, as the vast majority of the younger generation falls into this category.
