Abstract :

Employee retention is one of the leading needs of the organization, and findings reveal that supervisors' support and promotion, and flexible assignments are the important factors contributing to the retention of employees and they must be considered. Therefore, this study aims to analyses the effect of supervisor support, career development and flexible working on employee retention and retention's contribution in enhancing the productivity of the firm in Pakistan's sports manufacturing industry. The questionnaires of the employees from sports manufacturing companies Sialkot, Lahore, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, and Islamabad were used for collecting primary data. The study also checks the items and variables' reliability and association among variables using SmartPLS. The findings showed that there is a positive association between employee retention with supervisor support, employee retention with career advancement, and supervisor support with flexible working arrangements and employee retention with flexible working arrangements, and employee retention and productivity of the firm are positively associated. The findings also revealed the importance of employee retention as a significant mediator between supervisor support, career improvement options, flexible working arrangements and firm productivity. The research will inform managers and policy makers to craft HR strategies for productivity in the firm through supervisor support, career progress and flexible working arrangements.
