Abstract :

This study investigates the effect of distant posting on female teachers' work family conflict and job satisfaction in higher education department, Punjab. Sequential mix method approach was applied in the study, in which the quantitative data was collected from 100 female teachers of higher education department in the first phase and qualitative data from 7 higher education teachers was gathered through face-to-face interviews to support the quantitative findings in the second phase. The quantitative data showed no significant effect of distant posting on work family conflict and job satisfaction and to explain theses results in depth the qualitative themes were explored. The findings explain that the teachers maintain their stability by effectively and efficiently managing their time through a "triple workday" strategy, Moreover the job security and financial independence provided by this job minimize the hurdles of distant posting. The study concludes that although the distance of posting does not automatically diminish job satisfaction, this stability is maintained through continues family support and extreme personal endurance.
