Abstract :

The move towards remote working, which was enhanced with the COVID-19 pandemic, has transformed how work happens and resulted in the emergence of psychological issues, such as burnout. This paper examines the likelihood factors, job-related stressors, and preventive measures to burnout in virtual work environments. Mixed methods were employed, including a survey of 300 remote workers in diverse industries and qualitative interviews with 25 participants. Findings reveal the three most significant psychologically predictable burnout outcomes to be emotional exhaustion, perceived stress, and work-life conflict. The results indicated that technological problems and inadequate social support are the major stressors at work, and such coping practices as time management, mindfulness, and digital detox are helpful in decreasing the symptoms of burnout. Remote workers strongly valued preventive interventions such as flexible working hours and mental health days. The research highlights the value of organizational support and personalized interventions in the reduction of burnout and increased well-being of remote workers. The results provide valuable considerations to companies seeking to curb burnout and boost engagement levels in remote work environments.
