Abstract :
Introduction: Total knee arthroplasty (TKA) is a very effective treatment option for end-stage osteoarthritis of the knee. This study aimed to evaluate the postoperative clinical and radiological outcomes of CAS-TKA in obese patients.Materials and Methods: A Total of 29 patients undergoing TKA surgery were recruited for the study. Data were collected in three stages: pre-, intra-, and post-operative. Studied parameters included the WHO classification of obesity, Kellgren & Lawrence system of classification of osteoarthritis, the mechanical alignment of HKA radiographs, the range of, and the Oxford knee score.Results: After the completion of the study, the mean and SD of Tourniquet time, volume of Drain, volume of Intra op blood loss, of recruited subjects during surgery were 88.60±13.68, 142.68±116.36, and 305.17±104.66, respectively. And post-operated follow-up showed HKA alignment and Oxford knee score as 1.59±0.730 and 45.28±1.88, respectively.Conclusion: We didn’t find any significant difference between the two groups of obesity. Although there is an intense need to conduct a larger study with a larger patient pool.
