Abstract :

Abstract Liposomes are the novel  drug delivery system and now a day they have occupy a largest place in the world of  nanotechnology.Particulary they are used as targeted drug delivery system. Liposomes are  biocompatible, and can be used to deliver the  enzymes, vaccines antibacterial, antiviral drugs, antiparasite drugs, for the treatment o certain diseases. The structure shows that there exist similarity between lipid bilayer (two layer) and cell membrane, so that the liposomes can easily  penetrate and can deliver the encapsulated drug.In this study the main focus is the about the formation of liposomes encapsulating cosmetic agents, techniques that can be used for the manufacturing of liposomes and characterization parameters. To deliver the cosmetic agent through nanocarriers’liposomes’skin is he main target site. This technology is mostly used now a day because it exhibits many advantages over other kind of drug delivery system. In this study.liposomes prepared with the suitable particle size (535nm) and zeta potential (0.165mV) .Vitamin C,kojic acid and vitamin E  encapsulated in liposomes for skin whitening purpose.Liposomes are amphooteric in nature because can encapsuate both the hydrophilic and hydrophobic drug.In this study the liposomes were prepared with thin film hydration method. The entrapement efficacy of Vitamin C ,kojic acid and Vitamin E were 99.7% ,98%,95%.The dissolution studies of liposomes shows that drug released at appropriate time.
