Abstract :
One of the fundamental problems that economics seeks to answer is the importance of place.
The place, where the economic activity realized, has an importantance in the economic literature,
but has not found much room for economic analysis. After World War II, the concept of place
gained importance once again with the increasing interest in regional economics. The interest in
regional economics has increased even more with the New Economic Geography Theory, which is
developed in the beginning of the 1990s. The purpose of this study is to examine the relationship
between regional economics and the new economic geography approach from a the oretical
point of view
