Abstract :
Although poverty is generally perceived as a problem of less developed countries, it is among
the major problems of the developing and developed countries in this day and age. As a result of
globalization, poverty is without borders and it is emerges as an important problem in the World
since countries fall short of creating solution for it. In the world, 75% of the poor people live in the
countryside. Therefore, solution to poverty depends on the generation of policies to solve rural poverty. For a country like Turkey that about 30% of the population lives in the countryside, rural
development efforts and raising the status of women is of great importance for reducing women and
rural poverty. In this study, women poverty in the rural areas of Turkey, which is strongly affiliated
with women's economic, social, cultural and political deprivation, was evaluated from education
level, social security and income inequality aspects.
