Abstract :
The Treaty of Lausanne is a national and an international record that recognized the
sovereignty and independence of Turkey. It is also a social contract. Thus, a nation-state was born
through this treaty. Based on the historical Islamic political culture, the constituent power
recognized Muslims as the founder of Turkey. Non-Muslims recognized as the minority of the nation.
This paper investigates status of the non-Muslims’ minority in the context of national and
international level. It also looks at how the matter of subject was reflected in the foreign affairs
between 1923-1936
