Abstract :
Technology is the making, usage and knowledge of
tools, machines, techniques, crafts, systems or methods
or organization in order to solve a problem or perform a
specific function.1
Information technology (IT)
concerned with the use of technology to acquire
information and health information technology means
the comprehensive management of health information
across computerized systems and its secure exchange of
information between consumers, providers,
government and others.1
Health information technology
(HIT) is considered as the most promising tool for
improving the overall quality, efficiency and safety of
the health care delivery system.

Broad spectrum and
consistent use of HIT will improve health care quality;
reduce medical errors; reduce health care costs;
decrease paperwork; increase administrative
efficiencies; and expand access to affordable care.1
According to World Health Organization (WHO), health
technologies are the tools to tackle health problemsand
improve the quality of lives.1
It can help in collection,
storage, retrieval, and transfer of information
electronically. Several studies show that utilization of IT
in health sector is quite less while comparing to other
industries.
