Abstract :

Germ-cell tumorsthat are derived from one or more of the three germ-cell layers and composed of multiple cell types constitute the teratomas. They are classified into three groups: mature (cystic/ solid, benign), immature (malignant), and monodermal (highly specialized, e.g., struma ovarii, carcinoid tumors, neural tumors). Most commonly, these teratomas commonly arise in the gonads. However, they are also found in the anterior mediastinum, retroperitoneum and gastrointestinal tract and are usually less than 10 cm size.1 We report a huge mature ovarian teratoma in a 14-yearold female.
