Abstract :

The present study effect of different planting density on leaf yield and quality in leaf production of moringa (Moringa oleifera Lam.) was carried out during (Feb. - Dec.) 2015-16 in the vegetable field unit, Department of Horticulture, Faculty of Agriculture, Annamalai University, Annamalai nagar. The treatment consisted of five different planting density viz.,T1 (45 x 45 cm), T2 (60 x 60 cm), T3 (75 x 75 cm), T4 (90 x 90 cm) and T5 (120 x 120 cm). Observations on growth and yield characters were recorded at 35 days interval and totally eight harvest were made during the study period. The treatment T5 (120 x120 cm) recorded highest value for leaf weight, herbage yield per plant and chlorophyll content.
